Job Responsibilities
Contract Review and Administration
- Review, draft, and revise contracts, amendments, and related legal documents in line with business requirements and internal policies.
- Review contract templates and maintain a suite of standard contract templates to support business and procurement needs.
- Negotiate legal terms and conditions with vendors and other counterparties, escalating complex or high-risk matters where required.
- Identify contractual, legal, and compliance risks and propose practical mitigation measures.
- Ensure contracts comply with applicable federal and local laws, regulatory requirements, and internal governance standards.
- Support the review and amendment of supplier contracts and SLAs to ensure legal adequacy and clarity.
- Maintain accurate contract records, templates, and documentation in the contract repository and support renewal tracking.
Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with Procurement, OGC, R&Q, NIS, and business stakeholders to facilitate timely review, alignment, and sign-off of contracts.
- Provide legal and contractual guidance to internal stakeholders on standard terms, contractual obligations, and risk areas
Compliance and Process Support
- Support compliance of procurement and contracting processes with legal and internal control requirements, including standard terms, approvals, and delegated authority requirements.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of contract review processes, templates, and guidance materials.
Learning & Growth
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory developments affecting contracting activities.
- Take responsibility for continuing professional development and legal knowledge enhancement.
- Act as a reliable point of contact for legal contract review matters within the scope of the role.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B.) or equivalent required; qualified lawyer preferred.
- Additional legal or contract management certifications are an advantage. Language
- Fluency in written and spoken English is required; Arabic is an advantage.
Overall Experience
- 3-5 years of relevant post-qualification experience in commercial law, with strong experience in contract review, drafting, and negotiation.
Specific Experience
- Experience reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, supplier agreements, service-level agreements, and other business contracts.
- Experience ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal governance requirements.
- Experience within a large organisation and/or the Middle East region is an advantage.
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong legal drafting and contract review skills.
- Sound understanding of commercial law principles, contract law, legal terminology, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Strong negotiation skills, particularly in relation to legal terms and risk allocation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work collaboratively, and exercise sound legal judgment.
