What is expected from you? 

As a Senior Associate in PwC's Sustainability and ESG practice, you will help clients identify and address complex environmental challenges and opportunities. You will apply your engineering and scientific expertise to solve critical business issues, including climate change, resource management, and regulatory compliance. The role involves working with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability into corporate strategy, reporting, and transactions.

Key responsibilities:

  • Your role will be to work with clients in identifying their relevant controls, processes and frameworks and recommend improvements in business processes and controls.
  • You will have the ability to continuously develop your skills, taking a keen interest in trends in business processes and the impact on our clients.
  • You will be required to demonstrate extensive project management skills related to projects, including developing project plans, budgets, and deliverables schedules.
  • You will be required to demonstrate extensive abilities as a team leader, which includes creating a positive environment; monitoring workloads of the team while meeting client expectations; respecting the work-life quality of team members; providing candid, meaningful feedback in a timely manner; and keeping leadership informed of progress.
  • The role also requires that the candidate is able to collaborate with colleagues across different competences within the firm.
  • The role also requires working with colleagues in all Middle Eastern offices on client audits and internal initiatives as well as with international teams where appropriate.
  • Client delivery and project management: 
  • Serve as a technical team member on client projects, focusing on environmental engineering topics like decarbonization strategies, waste management, and environmental due diligence. 
  • Manage and deliver workstreams within broader ESG consulting projects, ensuring high-quality and timely deliverables for clients. 
  • Conduct environmental risk assessments and materiality analyses to identify key environmental issues relevant to a client's business. 
  • Technical analysis and implementation: 
  • Analyze complex environmental and ESG data, interpret scientific findings, and use data visualization tools to communicate insights effectively. 
  • Develop and implement solutions related to carbon footprint measurement, climate risk modeling, and net-zero strategies. 
  • Help clients develop robust ESG reporting and disclosure processes in line with emerging standards (e.g., ISSB, CSRD, TCFD). 
  • Relationship management and business development: 
  • Build strong working relationships with client stakeholders, from operational teams to C-suite executives. 
  • Support business development activities by contributing to proposals and market initiatives related to environmental services. 
  • Collaborate with other PwC specialists across audit, tax, and deals to provide holistic solutions to clients. 
  • Innovation and thought leadership: 
  • Stay current with evolving environmental and ESG regulations, industry trends, and technological innovations. 
  • Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and develop methodologies for new environmental and ESG service offerings. 

Qualifications: 

  • Education: A bachelor's or master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or a related field. 
  • Experience: 3–7 years of relevant experience in environmental consulting, corporate sustainability, or a related field.
